7 Place Vendôme, Paris

7 Place Vendôme is located in one of Paris's most prestigious and emblematic squares, in the heart of the 1st arrondissement. Place Vendôme was created in the early 18th century under the leadership of Louis XIV, with the renowned architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart at its design. It quickly gained an international reputation, particularly for its elegant neoclassical architecture and its private mansions, several of which are listed as historic monuments. The building at 7 Place Vendôme is part of this remarkable architectural ensemble, surrounded by buildings that today house luxury brands such as Chanel, Dior, and Cartier, as well as prestigious institutions such as the Ministry of Justice and the Ritz Paris.
Our main objective was to transform the lobbies and common areas to create an environment that is both functional and aesthetically impactful. The layout of the Cambon and Castiglione lobbies is directly inspired by Chanel's legendary staircase located on rue Cambon, whose faceted mirrors have been reinterpreted as reflective walls. This unique treatment of the walls creates a gallery that generates a kinetic and dynamic effect, bringing movement and fluidity to the occupant's journey. The use of reflections and play of light in these spaces enriches the visual experience, while increasing the sensation of depth and lightness in these volumes.
The Vendôme hall, meanwhile, was designed around a remarkable glass elevator, which has become a central sculptural element. The sober and refined treatment of the walls around this elevator magnifies this space, while respecting the historical foundations of the building. This contrast between history and contemporary architecture creates an elegant and peaceful atmosphere. All of these design interventions are intended to enhance the fluidity of circulation while maximizing the supply of natural light and creating new perspectives.
Finally, all the common areas have been reworked and treated in harmony around the superb existing elevators. The soft shade of white RAL9016 accompanies the visitor throughout the journey, while the access doors repainted in black enhance the elevator columns by echoing them.
